Moms are the busiest people in the world! They juggle kids, husbands, jobs, housework, homework, paid work, volunteer work, parents, pets, and more! How do they do it? Multitasking! Mothers seem to be highly skilled at keeping all the balls in the air at the same time. Often, they are successful and get everything (or, at least, most things) done. But other times … disasters happen!
Busy moms, this is your chance to share your stories to inspire other mothers who may be feeling the stress of “doing it all.” Share your best advice, your tricks of the trade, your epiphanies, yours ups and your downs, your most embarrassing moments. Pretend you’re talking to a friend and passing along your most helpful, funniest, or most heartwarming story about how you have managed to be a multitasking mom. Did your child suddenly remember that his science fair project was due the next day — on the very evening you were hosting the book club at the house? Was your best suit the victim of your children’s food fight the morning of an important work presentation? Are your children’s sports and social activities overtaking your family life or your relationship with your husband or partner? We’d love to hear how you handled these challenges — and kept your sanity.
If your story is chosen, you will be a published author and your bio will be printed in the book if you so choose. You will also receive a check for $200 and 10 free copies of your book, worth more than $100. You will retain the copyright for your story and you will retain the right to resell it.
Please remember, we no longer accept “as told to” stories. Please write in the first person about yourself or someone close to you. If you ghost write a story for someone else, that person will be credited as the author. If a story was previously published, we will probably not use it unless it ran in a small circulation venue. Let us know where the story was previously published in the “Comments” section of the submission form.
SUBMISSIONS GO TO OUR WEBSITE. Select the Submit Your Story link on the left tool bar and follow the directions.
