There are so many great blogs these days to help and encourage new and experienced writers alike. It can be intimidating and sometimes a bit frightening to launch out on your own. Who can you trust and where might they take you? I have done some research and found a few really good ones. These are blogs about writing, not necessarily from a Christian perspective. Keeping that in mind, here’s what I found:
Starting with our very own, Edie Melson. Hers is one of the very best. She has many words of wisdom, encouragement and advice, but that’s not all. She also has posts that feed our souls. Landing on her blog is a blessing all around. (Edie is also on faculty at Writers ADVANCE! Boot Camp in February teaching the blog basics. Now is a great time to sign up for Writers ADVANCE! Boot Camp.)
I absolutely loved this one. They do a much better job of describing their blog than I ever could, so here’s their mission statement: “Offering multiple perspectives on writing and the publishing industry from first draft to final product, and everything beyond.”
This blog is great. It gives practical advice while being very encouraging. You also get a push to stay in the writing game through assignments. Worth checking out.
Helpful hints can be found on this blog. The latest post was an interview which had some interesting tips.
I recently added this one to my list and got some freebies. He has some very useful tips and is encouraging through his transparency.
Well, there you have it, my top five list. Check them out and tell us what you think. Share some of your favorites, too. And don’t forget, these are not all Biblically based. So go forth with caution, but GO! Thanks for stopping by and have a very Merry Christmas!
