Chicken Soup for the Soul:
Devotional Stories for Wives

Please note new deadline and addition of story topic
One of the biggest roles that a woman can take on in her lifetime is to become a wife. It is easier to love during the early years of the relationship when everything is fresh and new. But it takes commitment and dedication to remain loving as the years go by, especially when children and the busyness of daily life can sometimes be overwhelming. If you have a devotion that speaks to the heart of marriage and the many challenges and rewards that are integral to being a wife, we invite you to submit your story. Our hope is that your personal story will inspire, comfort and encourage others who are going through — or about to embark on — the journey of being a wife.

Please share your true stories written in the first person of no more than 500 words, along with an applicable Bible verse (from the NIV version of the Bible) and a 2-3 sentence prayer. If you have already submitted a story to the Devotional Stories for Wives database, please do not submit it again as we have received it.

Stories should not have been previously published by Chicken Soup for the Soul or other major publications.

Here are some suggested topics, but we know you can think of many more:

  • Improving communication
  • Rising above the irritating habits
  • Praying for your husband
  • Military wives
  • Money problems
  • Uniting family traditions or religious beliefs
  • Aging together
  • Health issues and concerns
  • Making your marriage a priority
  • Inviting God into your marriage
  • Rekindling love
  • Remarriage after divorce or widowhood

If your story is chosen, you will be a published author and your bio will be printed in the book if you so choose. You will also receive a check for $100 and 10 free copies of your book, worth more than $100. You will retain the copyright for your story, as well as the right to resell it.

SUBMISSIONS GO TO http://chickensoup.com
Select the Submit Your Story link on the left tool bar and follow the directions.

The deadline for story submissions is March 15, 2013.
